Celebrating Ostara: A Recipe for Deviled Eggs.

The best part of any Sabbat is the cooking. Yum! Eggs are one of the most-popular symbols of Ostara and they are delicious as well. Try your hand at this deviled eggs recipe I got from my mother.

Deviled Eggs.

12 whole eggs
6 tablespoons of mayonnaise
1 teaspoon of curry powder
1/4 teaspooon salt
Paprika to garnish
Minced chives to garnish

Hard-boil the eggs. After cooling and peeling the eggs, slice each egg lengthwise down the middle. Remove the yolks from the centers. Set the egg whites on a plate and place the yolks in a mixing bowl. In the bowl, add the mayonnaise, curry and salt. Mash until creamy, adding more mayonnaise as necessary. Use a spoon or a piping bag to fill each egg white with the yolk mixture. Sprinkle with paprika and minced chives. Chill until serving time.

☆ Snapshots #2 ☆

I did a few card readings during the Storm Moon with my newest owl figurine, Humphrey, and my Shadowscapes Tarot.

I also threw together this anti-negativity spell bag. It has three herbs and five stones in it. I've decided this is my favourite spell bag ever. Not only are the results incredible, but it also smells amazing! I've been carrying it around with me every day.

How was your Full Moon?

☽ March's Storm Moon ☾

The smallest Full Moon of the year is on March 5th! I know this Moon by the name of 'Storm Moon', but it can also be called the Crow Moon, among many other names. Below you'll find a few Spring-specific ideas on how to celebrate!

☽ Charge your magickal tools under the moonlight to get them ready for Ostara!

☽ The Storm Moon is the perfect time for any magickal workings relating to new beginnings such as job spells, increasing love & communication, fertility & health magick.

☽ Do a little Spring cleaning in your house and finish with a good smudging.

☽ Place a jar of water in the moonlight to infuse it with the Storm Moon's energies. Use this water for ritual baths or cleansing your crystals.

☽ Reflect on your latest spells & manifestations. If you have gained anything, do a little gratitude & celebration ritual. If nothing has happened yet, take a look at what you've been doing wrong and resolve to continue moving forward in a positive way.

☽ Bless the seeds, plants, and/or gardening tools you'll be using in your magickal garden.

Celebrating Ostara: Decorating Your Altar.

Ostara by Helena Nelson-Reed.

Hi everyone ♥

With Ostara quickly approaching [March 20th!], it's time to get your altar set up! The following suggestions are merely that - suggestions! In the end, how you decorate your altar is entirely up to you =) But I hope you enjoy this post!

Colours: When you think of Spring, what colours come to mind? Perhaps the lush green of newly sprouted grass, robin's egg blue to celebrate the new birdies, or the yellows, purples and pinks of your favourite Spring colours! When you've settled on your colours, decorate your altar with an altar cloth, candles, and anything you'd like in that colour scheme.

Flowers & herbs: Spring flowers are lovely to display on your altar, whether it's a plant or a bouquet. Daffodils, tulips and crocus flowers all find a place on my altar. Lavender, lemon balm and rose hips also make an appearance.

Crystals: Crystals displayed in a wee bowl would make a wonderful addition. For Ostara, rose quartz, clear quartz, amazonite and amethyst are all appropriate. Of course, choose what feels best to you! You could also pick out crystals that match your colour scheme - maybe yellow opal or prehnite?

Symbols: All things Spring can be displayed on your altar! Eggs, rabbits, faeries, butterflies and seeds usually appear on my Ostara altar. When you think of Spring, what comes to mind?

Keep an eye out for several more posts that will help you get ready for Ostara =)

Blessings,
Faula

☆ Snapshots #1 ☆

After some consideration on how to share more of my magickal life with my readers, I've decided to start 'Snapshots'! Snapshots will be an irregular series with a photo or two from my latest magickal doings~

I've been organizing & re-organizing my altar a lot lately. Two of my favourite spell bottles, Luck and Love, are on display next to a pile of random stones ♥
